About Me

Jessica Jones BA (Hons), FdSc, AdvCertVPhys, MIRVAP
Jess qualified as a Veterinary Physiotherapist in 2015 with a post graduate certificate at Nottingham’s school of Veterinary science. Jess previously also obtained a BSc (hons) in Equine science at Harper Adams university and a FdSc in Equestrian Psychology at Glyndwr university.
Whilst studying to be a Veterinary Physiotherapist, Jess also received a PHCert equivalent meaning she can train upcoming veterinary physiotherapists. You may see these students shadow Jess on their placement day (your permission is always asked prior to this).
Passionate about animals
Animals have always been a passion of Jess’ and knew she wanted to work with animals since a young age. Jess started riding at the age of 5 at a local riding school and it progressed from there.
Jess has a passion for hydrotherapy – working currently one day a week at Beachin dog therapy pool and previously at Country Canines hydrotherapy. She understands the importance of hydrotherapy and the benefits and how it compliments physiotherapy well.
Owner of two ex-racehorses (and Louie)
Jess currently owns two ex-racehorses. Derrick her eldest was the main reason for becoming a physio, Jess worked at the race yard where Derrick was training and was lucky enough to have him when he retired. Derrick required lots of physio which worked wonders – this inspired her to do this as a career.
Derrick is now 18 and feeling better than ever competing all over the country in endurance. Meghan Jess’ other horse is 7 and was owned, raced and bred by the queen! Meghan is now having her retraining from racing and also taking well to endurance. Both horses represented the ROR endurance team this year which they are both showing how versatile the ex racehorses can be.

In her spare time Jess likes playing netball, riding her horses and spending time with friends, family and her chihuahua Louie.
